RTE is an electricity operator whose mission is to ensure that all its customers have access to an safe and clean electricity supply. The company operates, maintains and develops the network, guaranteeing the proper functioning and safety of the electricity system. With more than 106,970 km of high and extra-high voltage lines and 50 cross-border lines connecting the French network to 33 European countries, RTE transports electricity between electricity suppliers (French and European) and consumers. RTE employs over 9,000 people.
The RTE group has embarked on a digital transformation of its corporate function and needed to rethink its interactions with its suppliers, particularly in terms of catalog management. 25% of orders go through this channel. RTE wanted to replace the existing tool with a modern solution that would be as close as possible to current standards and more ergonomic, while offering updated product catalogs, descriptions and photos of each product. A more efficient search engine to facilitate the searches of 1,400 users was also required.
Thanks to the internal marketplace solution implemented by Proactis, RTE was able to increase the number of supplier catalogs managed in the tool, as well as the number of sites accessible via punch out. This has provided better visibility of the negotiated and approved content made available by the purchasing department. Based on B2C eCommerce standards, RTE gives its suppliers the availability to update their own catalogs. The complete changeover from the old solution used the data from the existing catalogs, in complete transparency for suppliers, buyers and users. "What we appreciate in our collaboration with Proactis is that beyond a tool that gives satisfaction to our users, Proactis also ensures reactive, efficient and professional support," said Luminita Marty, Business Process Owner at RTE. Proactis accompanied RTE from the design to the production of the solution, with a single contact person and follow-ups for maintenance and support, as well as the training of RTE employees and suppliers.
The use of the Proactis solution has enabled RTE employees to manage their orders themselves with complete peace of mind. The platform simplifies the management of supplier catalogs by ensuring that users have access to all the content approved by the purchasing department, with rich and detailed information for each item to help in the purchasing decision. This has drastically reduced the volume of out-of-contract purchases. The clear and user-friendly interface allows users to find the items they need more quickly. The solution has enabled RTE to achieve its digital transformation objectives, while remaining integrated with SAP-SRM 7. Since the implementation of the Proactis solution, RTE has seen its number of catalogs increase significantly. Additionally, users are satisfied with the Proactis solution, which is intuitive, as are the suppliers.
