College of West Anglia to Implement PROACTIS Purchasing Solution
PROACTIS, the spend control and eProcurement specialist, today announced that the College of West Anglia is the latest college to implement the PROACTIS purchasing solution from PROACTIS reseller, LAKE.
The selection of PROACTIS was driven by the need for a more efficient system of purchasing combined with improved visibility of purchasing commitments. PROACTIS was selected for its reporting flexibility, ease-of-use and proven integration with Infor FMS SunSystems.
Nik Barrett, Head of Finance for the college explains: "We were aware of the need to make our systems more efficient and quicker. And we were also aware that eProcurement solutions were being taken up by other colleges. Our current system is a very slow process which starts with a manually written requisition that then needs a number of authority signatories before it can be turned in to an order and posted to the supplier."
The selection of a new purchasing system involved a detailed look at systems that are proven to integrate with Infor FMS SunSystems. Nik Barrett explains: "We wanted to increase the visibility of our purchasing process. It was one of the things we looked at in quite some detail. Our reasons for selecting PROACTIS were, firstly, it gave us more in terms of reporting and, secondly, PROACTIS has a more user-friendly design."
Barrett adds: "It seems far easier for the users to look at and, more importantly, use. We took up references from other colleges that had used LAKE and PROACTIS before and they provided glowing references."
