PROACTIS Public Procurement System Implemented at Southend Council
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has gone live with PROACTIS Strategic Procurement, comprising of Supplier Management, Tender Management, Automatic Tender Evaluation, OJEU Module and Contract Management. The system has initially been implemented within Southend Corporate Procurement, with a planned co-ordinated roll-out to the wider local authority departments.
During implementation, the Council's key contracts were migrated into the PROACTIS system together with the contracted suppliers, in order to simplify the effective management of these contracts. Southend will use the system for all tenders managed by Corporate Procurement over the coming months to engage with their supplier base in an E-Tendering environment.
David Levy, the Head of Procurement at Southend, stated that "eSourcing is a vital tool to improve our tendering process and reduce inefficiencies. PROACTIS is a user-friendly, intuitive system that will help the Council manage its supply chain more effectively."
