APPWALES brings eProcurement success to life in Wales

PROACTIS has successfully launched the APPWALES (Alito Procurement Portal Wales) system, where initially five Local Authorities in Wales (Cardiff Council, City and County of Swansea, Pembrokeshire County Council, Torfaen County Borough Council and Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council) will use the Alito Supplier, Sourcing and Contract Management system.

The system will act as a single regional portal for suppliers, whilst providing each Authority with its own customised toolset for supplier approval and performance management, e-tendering and contract management.

The launch of the APPWALES Portal is PROACTIS' second multi-buyer regional system (along with the Yorkshire & Humberside region) and will allow member Authorities in Wales to collaborate further in procurement activity in order to make efficiency gains.

The APPWALES system which represents an upgrade for four of the participating authorities, goes live with approximately 10,000 suppliers, total value of contracts of over £300m, over 200 tender exercises and nearly 400 users.
