NHS Trust Selects PROACTIS eMarketplace to Lower Costs

PROACTIS, a global Spend Control and eProcurement solution provider, today announced that Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust has purchased the PROACTIS eMarketplace solution, to improve the online catalogue and ordering experience and ensure organisation contract compliance.
The eMarketplace solution from PROACTIS, which replaces a legacy system, is designed to maximise efficiency gains and reduce transaction costs for Public Sector organisations. This includes providing online access to a range of supplier catalogues and seamless access to NHS Supply Chain, a dedicated supply chain to the National Health Service in England.

From January through to April 2015 the Trust will work with PROACTIS to go-live with the eMarketplace solution, including integration to UNIT4 Agresso Financial Management System (FMS). This approach will provide an easy way for the Trust to manage contracted goods and services across multiple spend categories.

“We are looking forward to implementing the PROACTIS eMarketplace, which will facilitate our goal of lowering the total cost of goods and services while at the same time improving the purchasing experience,” said Jeff Nielsen, Head of Procurement, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. “Using PROACTIS, the Trust’s Procurement team can ensure contract compliance at the front end of the requisitioning process, thereby driving spend to approved suppliers and contracted lower prices whilst maximising the resource potential of the department itself.”

“The PROACTIS eMarketplace makes it easy for staff to buy from preferred suppliers. Online catalogues will lead them directly to the right suppliers for commonly purchased items,” said Simon Lipscomb, Sales Director, PROACTIS. “No catalogue management will be required – PROACTIS Expert Services will manage the content of all centralised contracts and catalogues, removing the administrative overhead for the Trust. We look forward to expanding this service into other NHS Trusts”
