Flintshire Council Selects PROACTIS Source-to-Contract Solution to Transform Procurement
PROACTIS, a global Spend Control and eProcurement solution provider, today announced that Flintshire County Council is to implement PROACTIS unified suite of Source-to-Contract solutions to help maximise savings by automating and streamlining procurement. The solution will help to reduce costs, improve productivity and automate sourcing activities that result in better decisions to optimise the overall value contribution from suppliers.
"We started to look at technologies for driving cost savings," said Chris Guest, Head of ICT & Customer Services at Flintshire County Council. "We needed to ensure our procurement process could be delivered efficiently, to limit the time and expense for the parties involved; which is good for the council, good for businesses supplying the Council, and good for the taxpayer. We chose PROACTIS because it is flexible, functionally rich and covers the full scope of procurement automation."
PROACTIS suite of Source-to-Contract applications will span the full scope of procurement activities. The core solution in this suite is Sourcing, which supports requests for information, RFP's, Framework Agreements and bid analysis. Additional modules will include organisation wide contract management for tracking key events and milestones and supply base management for monitoring supplier performance and tracking credentials.
PROACTIS will also offer a Supplier Portal to help the council interact with suppliers, including downloading orders; viewing account data such as invoice payment status; maintaining profiles/ catalogues; and submitting invoices. Small, regional suppliers will especially benefit from the Supplier Portal, because the solution facilitates communication without requiring suppliers to make technology investments.
"The expected efficiencies will lead to cost savings and ultimately an improvement in frontline services," added Arwel Staples, Acting Head of Strategic Procurement at Flintshire County Council. "PROACTIS will automate all of our sourcing events from simple to multi-stage negotiations and allow us to realise best value, not just the best price, from our supply base by factoring cost, risk, and performance into decision-making. PROACTIS will also deliver greater control of the contracts we secure."
This latest deal underlines the demand in the Public Sector for a unified suite of Source-to-Contract solutions that turns procurement into a source of sustainable cost savings and offers capabilities to mitigate risk and improve compliance.
PROACTIS helps over 120 public sector organisations managing £15 billion of public sector spend and over 100,000 suppliers to streamline their Source-to-Contract and Purchase-to-Pay processes to achieve best value and control.
