The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service has recently chosen Eclipse as the preferred provider for their new procurement and contract management solution.
Customs and Border Protection manages the security and integrity of Australia's borders, working closely with other government and international agencies to detect and deter unlawful movement of goods and people across the border.
Customs and Border Protection were looking for a commercial-off-the-shelf procurement and contract management solution to facilitate automated spending approval processes, mandatory reporting requirements, contract administration and market evaluations in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.
The solution needed to:
- Comply with the Commonwealth procurement policies
- Provide templates, sourcing and evaluation functions
- Facilitate contract and panel management administration, and
- Provide automated compliance reporting
Customs and Border Protection conducted an open tender procurement process resulting in the evaluation of a number of solutions and selected PROACTIS eProcurement from Eclipse Computing as the successful product.
The PROACTIS solution was chosen based on the overall value for money taking into consideration the vendor's ability to meet Customs and Border Protection's essential criteria and minimum requirements, their proposed implementation, training and integration solutions and recommendations from current users and referees.
